OGTAP (Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme) is a prestigious apprenticeship training scheme. This year, OGTAP has been rebranded with a new name and identity, APTUS, meaning to adapt, to adjust and to be prepared. This reflects the evolution of both the programme and the entire industry as the energy transition gathers pace.

APTUS, a leading energy apprenticeship programme, values diversity. It requires no prior experience and encourages applicants from all backgrounds. This is vital as it guarantees a diverse workforce for the future while maintaining its fair application process.

Our mission is to create a working environment which:

  • Is varied and inclusive by welcoming all genders and ethnic groups to support the energy industry.
  • Has an increasing knowledge and acceptance of different cultures.
  • Allows for a broader, more diverse approach to problem solving brining new and different ideas.
  • Enables everyone to bring their whole selves, thus increasing the resilience of the energy industry.

Coming together, with a diverse and inclusive workforce, apprentices can experience and demonstrate real teamworking. They will be able to recognise and enjoy the diverse and unique nature of their colleagues and realise the advantages this has on the working environment now and into the future.
